Harmonized requirements in Europe, the CIS,USA and rest of the world

As a result of global sales activities and the wide range of different mechanical and electrical products,a number of regulations must be observed around the world.

澳门网赌网站Schenck Process provides plant designers and operators with important advice and support in relation to project planning their equipment. One of the main advantages of our products for end users is the modular product structure. This allows the equipment to be adapted perfectly to the technical requirements of the operator.

Below you will find a selection of the most important regulations.

The European Directives serve to standardize statutory requirements within Europe. This harmonization has eliminated obstacles to trade in all areas within the EU.

Depending on the product, one or more of the following Directives may apply. The most important European Directives for 澳门网赌网站Schenck Process products are:

    94/9/EC ATEX Equipment Directive (ATEX)
    2006/42/EC Machinery Directive (MD)
    2006/95/EC Low Voltage Directive (LVD)
    2004/108/EC Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive (EMC)
    2011/65/EU RoHS
    2004/22/EC Measuring Instruments Directive (MID)
2009/23/EC Non-automatic Weighing Instruments Directive (NAWI)
    97/23/EC Pressure Equipment Directive (PED)

From April 20,2016 some of the directives listed above are being replaced with new ones.

    2014/34/EU ATEX Equipment Directive (ATEX)
    2014/35/EU Low Voltage Directive (LVD)
    2014/30/EU Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive (EMC)
    2014/32/EU Measuring Instruments Directive (MID)
2014/31/EU Non-automatic Weighing Instruments Directive (NAWI)

The Pressure Equipment Directive is being replaced by a new Pressure Equipment Directive in two stages. It should ultimately be applied from July 20,2016.

    2014/68/EU Pressure Equipment Directive (PED)

The old directive should be applied until the date of application. It is essential that the new directive is applied from the new date of application.Depending on the product, other directives not listed above may also be applicable.

Overviews of harmonized standards are provided in the Official Journal of the European Union for virtually all European Directives.A "presumption of conformity" results from the application of the harmonized standards, can be assumed that the main requirements of the applicable directive (e.g.ATEX Equipment Directive) are met.

Most electrical and mechanical devices / operating equipment have an EC-type examination certificate for use in areas at risk of explosion. Some other mechanical category 2 or 3 devices and some electrical category 3 operating equipment are available with EU declarations of conformity for use in areas at risk of explosion.Other certificates are available in accordance with the Measuring Instruments Directive and Non-automatic Weighing Instruments Directive.

    CIS (Russia,Kazakhstan,Belarus)

A system of directives, comparable with the EU,has been introduced in the CIS in recent years.
    The most important directives are:

    Electrical and industrial machinery
    Safety of low-voltage devices TR CU 004/2011 2/15/2013 3/15/2015
EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) of technical devices TR CU 020/2011 2/15/2013 3/15/2015
Safety of machinery and industrial devices TR CU 010/2011 2/15/2013 3/15/2015
    Elevator safety TR CU 011/2011 2/15/2013 3/15/2015
Safety of devices for use in an explosive atmosphere TR CU 012/2011 2/15/2013 3/15/2015
    Safety of gas-operated devices TR CU 016/2011 2/15/2013 3/15/2015

All devices and operating equipment which fall under the above directives require an EAC certificate.GOST-R certificates and RTN certificates issued to date in this area cease to apply from 3/15/2015.From this date and regardless of the validity period stated on the GOST-R certificate,an EAC certificate is needed.Complete machines and individual components can be supplied with EAC certification.(Internal comment: Unfortunately not yet available for all individual electrical parts.Complete machines aren't a problem, problems arise in the spare parts service.)

Electrical operating equipment must comply with North American requirements and appropriate certification is sometimes needed.

    Rest of the world

Unless national requirements are made known and unless expressly agreed otherwise, the machines are produced in line with the European Directives.IECEx certificates may be available in place of ATEX certificates for electrical operating equipment in areas at risk of explosion.
